Big bed. Clean. Strategic location.

The towel need a change to a new because it looks old. But it still clean to me.

Basic business hotel. Limited toiletries and towels. Room order and housekeeping had to use an app which was difficult to navigate

Location, Good breakfast selection

Housekeeping repeatedly asking for clean towels late in afternoon no plug in sink continually asked for plumber as sink blocked.

Unfortunately the executive lounge was under repair but the management and especially Ms Jennifer were of a fantastic help !

The tables and one of the toilets in the suite was not properly cleaned. Please pay attention to all areas, not just the beds.

I booked the room for my newlywed friends as a gift and requested for early checkin and they were okay with it. I also requested if my sister could come in an hour early to decorate the room as a surprise for my newlywed friends and they allowed that as well! And the river view was breathtaking! They definitely had the best view ever! You could see everything!

Limited parking spaces & hence have to rush back to hotel early in the evening to catch abailable space . No lift connection to parking area at B2.

Breakfast was satisfactory. Good selection of food. Location has lovely view and it's vincinity to the city is added bonus.

Customer service should have been more alert in deducting the payment before check-out as I had paid using my card during booking which could have saved a lot of hassle during check-out.

The location and staff is superb. I have always stay in this hotel when I travel for work. When I don't have enough time to travel further out of Kuching in short trip, there are enough things for me to explore and re visit at this part of town. The main streets at this part of town with lots of eatery and interesting shops are just at walking distance. There are enough museums to keep your days fill up - reachable either by foot or just a 10-15 min distance by car . It's next to river side and at least there are some night activities that you can do.- walk along the river and visit some stalls, sometime listen to some street artist playing music and enjoy a water fountain display in the night. There is also a very good river view and far away mountain view from the hotel (make sure you book the room with river view! ).

However the bathroom especially the shower area need improvement. It's time to have the stain on the wall and floor area scrubbed off. Hope my next visit will see a cleaner shower area.

The people were always warm and friendly.

The rooms were dirty! Once I asked the staff to change the bedding (it wasn’t fresh!) and clean it it was ok. Better training of cleaning staff and this place would be a supremely heavenly place to stay.

- towels smelled like fish and had large spots on them - NOT clean! - same goes for the bathroom - NOT clean - we comained twice and they gave us at least a room upgrade still didnt manage to give us clean towels - unacceptable for a hotel that clains to be top notch -fitness room is in the old part of the hotel and thus very old and smelly - laundry service is extremely expensive - be careful!

Free booze from 1700 - 1900

Some days there are no parking at B1. Then, you have to drive to B2 where there are no elevator & you have to ascend the stairs to B1. For extra safety, wish there are cctv at stairs area or security personnel to guard especially for female residence where at B2 levels are quiet and feels spooky.

Room is good but a bit small. Not much space to move

The parking facilities. Security didn't monitor the parking area properly and some cars were parked at the yellow box which caused other cars cannot pass through. And another car was parked at the other access. Parking system must be properly monitored so that this problem will not waste other people's time

It is very difficult to write about obvious positives. But since I am limited by the number of characters for each category, I will start my comments (positives and negatives) here. We stayed at the Riverside Majestic Hotel – Astana Wing because we were unable to get a room at our favourite hotel on our first night in Kuching. And I had selected the hotel based on the good impression which I had after staying at the current old wing of the hotel many years ago. But I regret to say that we were quite disappointed with our stay, as can be concluded from my comments below: The staff, including the Security staff, who were on duty on the night we checked in were very helpful and attentive. There is a 24/7 7Eleven outlet across the road. It was very useful when we started to feel hungry later that night. It is close to the Pangkalan Boyan-Gersik: it provided easy access to river taxis to enable us to shop at the Mira Cake House across the river. There is free Wi-Fi, but it supported up to four devices only. Between the two of us, we have seven devices. The speed is also rather slow, but this could be an issue with Kuching and not just the hotel. We could see a fair bit of the river, including Fort Margherita, but I would not say that it was the best view in Kuching. There are better views, especially of the Bangunan Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak Baru and the Darul Hana Bridge, elsewhere. From our room, we could not get a good view of the Musical Fountain – the room should not have been equipped with an angled window! It is a shorter walk to the various cat statues. There are some eateries in its vicinity, but we did not patronise any due to the lack of opportunity/time. (continued below)

(continued from above) There was a problem with the toilet flush: the water continued to flow down the inside after a flush – it was noisy and the “cistern” did not fill up. We had to call for a plumber to attend to the problem. I think they were not able to resolve the problem totally, and just asked us to push the flush button a second time and to hold it for a minute or two. It helped a little but we had to spend time with the flush after each usage. It was quite stuffy in our room, and I started to feel uncomfortable – it was much cooler and more comfortable in the corridors outside the room. Eventually, when we went out of the hotel – after midnight – I was so grateful for the fresh air! There was only one yukata for two people! Just before writing this review, I was at the hotel’s page on the booking.com site. I saw some mention (in a review) of a welcome drink. We did not get any welcome drink. It is also mentioned somewhere that it is a five-start hotel. I am afraid I am unable to agree with that.

The room so dusty and not clean.. Too much rubbish under bed...lastly parking at basement so smelling.. Very not comfortable for guest
